I’ve always known the written word was a powerful tool. Whether as a student at Cornell and NYU, or vice president of communications at Junior Achievement of New York, I wielded the pen (and the keyboard) to express myself and impact others.

At CBS News, I honed my reporting skills and learned to recognize a good story; my mentors were some of the best journalists in the business.

I’ve published two regular columns and numerous features, short articles and essays. I have experience writing newsletters and annual reports and can write, read and speak proficiently in Spanish. I write and deliver speeches and presentations; unlike many people I know, I enjoy speaking in front of an audience.

Passionate about education, I’m serving my fourth term as a school board trustee; I was board president for four years.

I am an avid runner, having completed two marathons, three half marathons, Tough Mudder and countless other races. I practice yoga regularly and can hit a decent golf shot.

I live on the North Shore of Long Island with my husband and two children.
